Aïssata Sy has been Head of video production for a significant French communication agency and had a 14-year career within Newen Group, notably as an executive producer for the documentary production company Capa, and as a co-executive producer for the longest running French daily-drama: “Plus Belle La Vie”.

Since 2019, Aïssata has been a producer and consultant dedicated to promoting the work of French people of color in fiction and documentaries. She has created Izzy B. Productions with French-Ivorian author Isabelle Boni-Claverie, a production company focusing on stories about French diversity, and developped a TV series for Amazon in coproduction with Federations Enterntainement. She also is a consultant for French activist Assa Traore’s production company, as well as a frequent contributor to La Rumeur Filme, a production company founded by prominent members of France’s Hip Hop scene. In parallel, she works with Le Pavillon Afrique, a label derived from the Festival de Cannes and dedicated to developing writing and directing talents from the African diaspora all around Europe.
