David Dusa

IP CREATOR & WRITER

David Dusa is writing the TV series “A Long Night In Paris”, together with Leora Kamenetzky (“False Flag”, “Fauda”) adapted from Dov Alfon’s bestseller Unité 8200, for TF1 and Keshet (Elephant International, France). Also with Leora, he is adapting the graphic novel series “Alter Ego” for Mother Production (“Call My Agent”) and Federation Entertainment (“The Bureau”) in France, and Don’t Play with Fire, a Swedish-Israeli coproduction. He is writing “Intra” for Vendôme Films (“Source Code”) & Baxtory together with Edgar Marie a film to be directed by Xavier Gens (Gangs of London, Lupin TV series). He created “In Amenas” a TV series for Viaplay and worked with Norwegian writer Sara Johnsen (“Occupied”, “July 22”, “Vinterkyss”) on the teen horror series “Bloodlust”; and the TV series “The Laundress” for “The Man in the High Castle” producer Stewart MacKinnon in the UK. He is currently co-writing several graphic novels series, including “Robot Lord Rising” for Caurette, “Nephilims” for Le Lombard and ”The Man who sold the world”. 

 

Based in Beijing from 2012 to 2018, David wrote original scripts for Chinese super star Feng Xiao Yue (“Monga”, “Tiny Times”) as well as an adaptation of a French blockbuster for Jacky Chan, and other adaptations of western films and books for the Chinese market. Previously, David co-wrote with Director’s Guild of America awarded artist Wim Vandekeybus (“Galloping Mind” and “Radical Wrong”). He co-wrote and edited international awarded documentaries like “The Land of the Enlightened” (Sundance Film Festival), “Nothing Is Forgiven” and “Wim” for RTBF and VRT, and “Victoire Terminus” (Berlinale, Grierson Award at the London Film Festival). 

 

David directed four short films, all awarded internationally (UIP Award) and his feature debut “Flowers of Evil” (Cannes film festival 2010). He was selected by Variety for 10 European Filmmakers to Watch and his films travelled to more than 160 festivals. Parallel to his film work, David Dusa writes about geopolitics.

 

Hungarian born, Swedish raised, he has lived in France, China, India, UK, Norway, Taiwan and South Africa. He is fluent in English, Swedish, Hungarian and French and speaks intermediary Chinese. He is alumni of the Berlinale Talent Campus, Binger Film Lab, Torino Film Lab, The Paris Film Conservatory of Paris and MediaXchange TV Showrunner program. David also has a Master in Political Science with a specialization in International Security and is currently working on a research project at the Swedish School of Defence. David is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmys).
